I press towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 (The Bible, NKJV)
Highfields & St Denys Football Club is a Christian football team that plays within the United Churches League, based in South Wales. Although we are a Christian team this is not a requirement for you to join (and neither is your footballing ability, or lack of). In fact many of our players are not Christians. So why does such a Christian team exist then? Whats its purpose? Well, our hope is that the team will provide a good opportunity for players to bring their friends into contact with normal down to earth Christians who in turn can show why they believe in Jesus Christ and how this affects their everyday lives.
Because we are a Christian team we do, however, ask our members to behave accordingly at all times, regardless of whether they are Christian or not. We expect our players to act with consideration to all other players, and play football according to the rules and regulations set out by the West Wales Football Association, to whom we are affiliated. Players representing Highfields & St Denys FC will be expected to demonstrate a sportsmanly attitude to fellow team mates, opposition players and officials.
If you are interested in joining Highfields & St Denys FC please feel free to look through our information pack (click Club Documents and select Player Welcome Pack) or alternatively contact us via the website link (Contact Club). We hope you enjoy playing for the team and that God may bless the friendships you develop and your fellowship during the coming seasons.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
